At the recent Feis Ceoil in Dublin, Stephanie Kinsella from Clonleigh who is aged 12, achieved 2nd place in the Girls under 14 solo singing competition. 39 competitors from all over Ireland sang in the first round with the same song "Sleep little babe, I love thee ". The Scottish adjudicator called back 8 of the girls to sing again, this time with a song of their own choice. In an exciting finale, Stephanie was awarded 2nd place with 94 marks and the silver medal. She was just pipped at he post as the winner had only 1 mark higher ! Well done Stephanie. ____________________________________________________________ Clodagh & Stephanie Kinsella At last nights ( Sunday 31st March ) CU Factor Final in Gorey, the Kinsella sisters Clodagh and Stephanie, secured 2nd place, with their song " The Flower Duet ". 16 singing finalists took to the stage in Gorey Little Theatre in a highly contested singing competition. There were 4 finalists from each of the Chapter 9 Credit Union areas, which includes South Wicklow and all of County Wexford. Each of the 4 finalists had already come through previous competitions in their own Credit Union areas, to get to the final. This was the second year of the competition, which was open to singers aged 12 to 25 years of age.Last years winner was Anthony Rohio from Gorey area, who also sang again last night, whilst the 3 judges were making up their minds. Keira Byrne, who is currently singing in the RTE show, The Voice of Ireland, was third in last years CU Factor Final. |
